I'm confused about how to use the database.
See an example here.
Why can't I find a particular song/author?
There are a couple of possibilities.
1. Your song or troubadour is simply not in our database. Currently, we only have a collection of 61 songs, all taken from the Goldin anthology.
2. You are misspelling a word/name. It is very common to see enormous variations of a troubadour name (ex: Peire Cardenal, Pierre Cardenal). We recommend trying the first letter of a name, and looking through the autocomplete options to see if anything matches. In the case of song titles, different spellings are common as well (can & quan). If trying these variations does not work, use the BdT number search field instead.
3. Your song is different than what we have on record. It is possible that a song has been catalogued differently by two separate sources, and their BdT number, title, or author may not match up to our own.
I found a content error. What can I do?
Send us an email at [email protected] with a picture of the error and the correct value of the field!
Are there any formatting restrictions on my search terms?
The BdT number should be in the form of xx.yy, where xx is the author ID, yy is the song ID, and there is a single period in between. Ignore diacritics in song titles, such as accents or punctuation between letters. Using only one field at a time will reduce search errors due to formatting or spelling.
The "Vida" link sends me to an error page. What went wrong?
This means that we have had a harder time tracking down the vida of this particular troubadour. If you have any leads, email us at [email protected]!
Can I submit a new song?
Sure thing! Send us an email at [email protected] with an explanation of where to find the original song lyrics, as well as the BdT number, if you have it!
